Corruption is a waste of my time & effort if i am paid my regular salary of millions, spouse gets to be part of this by drawing obscene salary from some big MNC without knowing where the hell it is. Oh Yeah and i also get to draw several awfully generous director fees from companyies that i have no bloody blinking idea where they are and what they do.
Do you seriously think i want to waste my time on corruption? I have the same ridiculously paid assistants to handle the corruption for me!!!

You underestimate the greed of humans. Just take a look at LKY after years of raking in millions he & his wife must be billionaires
If you are a Spore MP it is legal to do side businesses. Unlike in other 1st world nations where there are laws against MPs profiting from their positions.
Just imagine how easy it would be for an MP to use insider info, or getting comissions(kickbacks),.... or whatever. I doubt that under Spore law its illegal. You'll only see someone get into trouble when that person falls out of favour
Just take a look at LKY,other than getting an PMs pay, a pension, directorships, etc.....he is also a SPECIAL ADVISER TO CITIBANK.
IF Spore MPs can moonlight I bet there's lots of confict of interest. There's no independent watchdog out there. Everyone in the PAP is too busy making money.
