Singapore is rich expats' top place to live and work: Survey
By Aaron Low

SINGAPORE: -- Singapore has emerged as the top place for wealthy expatriates to live and work in, a new survey by HSBC Bank has shown.

Expats in the survey ranked Singapore first out of 30 countries based on economic factors such as earning power, disposable income and ability to accumulate luxuries.

Thailand was in the second spot, followed by Cayman Islands in third place. About 44 per cent of respondents said they saw a 50 per cent or more increase in their disposable income after they relocated to Singapore, the report said.

The report, which surveyed more than 5,000 expats in 100 countries, also said that 54 per cent of expats here earned more than US$200,000 (S$246,000) a year. They also ranked Singapore highly for its quality of life, placing the Republic fourth overall, especially for its safe environment in which to bring up children.

I'm not surprised because we have such a clean & honest gov't  /s

Expats can also get freebies from SPGs & the judiciary is very lenient if they get involved in a criminal offence

And most importantly Expats never need to worry whether they will qualify for a maid due to a $30,000 a year requirement cos they easily break thru the $100K barrier and they won't need to worry about noise from Malay weddings as they NEVER WILL NEED TO LIVE IN HDB FLATS!

Sinkie are really shameful.:D

Life as a "lesser mortal" in Spore can be challenging even if you have a million dollars. A million dollars doesn't go far in Spore when you have to support the world's highest paid civil servants:eek: Everything keeps going up & up: utility bills, medical bills, fines, etc.

Nobody says Singapore is not a good place to live and work for the rich. In fact, we are convinced that it is the best place for the rich but it is a different case for the rest. A place with a high Gini coefficient definitely favours the rich. No doubt about that.
