Back in March 1980, during a Olympic qualifying football game at the old National Stadium, S'pore beat North Korea 3-1. Our goal scorers were: Lim Tang Boon, Wong Kwok Choy and Fandi Ahmad. During those days, the Lions could take on Asian power houses.Singapore Lions had finally qualified for the Asian Cup 2027 on merit .. many many years ago one piece ofin this forum said that we couldn’t qualify for Asian Cup and now we had made it
We hope to see our national football teams beating the likes of UAE, Qatar & China

Sadly, I share your opinion that S'pore won't qualify for the World Cup even if the number of places is doubled for Asian nations because we are not even among the top countries in South East Asia such as Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and even Malaysia. There’s no chance in hell that Singapore will qualify by 2034. Until 2050 also hard. There are 8 slots for Asian countries and I dun see them climbing to top 10 spot in a decade or two. See where our football have been wallowing all the decades from 70s to now. Never even won a SEA Games gold medal want to talk what. Maybe when fifa expand World Cup to 64 or more teams then have double the slots for Asian teams but also hard currently sg ranked 30th in Asia
Led by idiot Davud Neo might have high chance to win the world cupCAN BUT MUST USE CHOK TONG'S BALL AND HIS LOUD MOUTH
We have to be top dominant SEA team consistently before talking about Asia. Not even learn to walk want to run. Farking jokers.Sadly, I share your opinion that S'pore won't qualify for the World Cup even if the number of places is doubled for Asian nations because we are not even among the top countries in South East Asia such as Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and even Malaysia.
The S-League started with too many foreign players who did not transfer their skills, but only deprived S'poreans of much needed play time to hone their skills and gain experience of 1st team football. Moreover, many of the foreign players were not much better than our locals in the squad. We have to be top dominant SEA team consistently before talking about Asia. Not even learn to walk want to run. Farking jokers. S league is a failure after 30 years never even raise the standard of football here one notch. Only get sinkies hooked on sports betting that’s their legacy.
from 1998, comes the Goal 2010. ppl called 2100 or even 20010.Maybe Year 2304 would be possible
It seems that qualification for the World Cup is a moving target for the Lions.from 1998, comes the Goal 2010. ppl called 2100 or even 20010.
now become Goal 2034, after that win over HK.
what shall we call the no. 2034?? 20034 or 2034 years later ?
If there is a World Cup for the highest salary minister, Singapore will win it without doubt. If there is a World Cup for Kiasu, Singapore will win. Also if if there is a World Cup for being butt fcuked daily by their government, we will also win that one.
Those foreign players are shitty as fuck. The top player here a Brazilian couldn’t even make it into Brazil’s lowest league. The S-League started with too many foreign players who did not transfer their skills, but only deprived S'poreans of much needed play time to hone their skills and gain experience of 1st team football. World Cup for queuing dumbo sinkies will win hands down tooIf there is a World Cup for Kiasu, Singapore will win. Also if if there is a World Cup for being butt fcuked daily by their govt, we will also win that one.
The foreign player rule is supposed to benefit the SPL through the transfer of skills to local players. However, the quality of foreign signings must be of a significantly higher standard. Only then can our footballers learn from their overseas team mates. Locals also improve by constantly competing for a place in the starting line-up; they can make the most of the first team opportunities that open up with the reduction in foreigners on the field. However, our present crop of overseas talent is only marginally better than the locals. Home-grown talent has been withering on the vine because the SPL is swamped by the foreign invasion, leaving our young talents marginalised. If the best local players are not getting a game every week for their clubs, they may just give up playing full-time, leading to an ever-decreasing pool of local talent for the national team to choose from. Those foreign players are shitty as fuck. the idea was good want to follow J league K league but unwilling to spend so ended up with the all rejects. The foreign player rule is supposed to benefit the SPL through the transfer of skills to local players.
