If taxis do not need to use booster seats or child restraints when picking up passengers with young children, Uber and Grab drivers should also not have to do so.

Taxis are exempted because they are considered public service vehicles under the Road Traffic Act. Facebook user Arwen Ahmad said: "Taxis and private-hire cars are both cars, so where is the logic that only the latter needs booster seat? Are we all not concern about a child's well-being and safety?"

PAP is known to have two laws one to favour its cronies and another for Singaporeans. This is divisive and makes a mockery of our Pledge:

" We, the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion. To build a democratic society, based on justice and equality, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation"

Where is justice and equality under pap's two law system?

Consider this as one of the first baby steps that existing taxi operators, temasick and running dog mandarins will strike against disruptive competitors like uber and grab....

Indeed, it is a surprise that it took them so long to come out with such a fuckard regulation in response to uber, grab, etc muscling in on their monopoly business and spoil their daily free cash cow milking of poor taxi drivers and passengers (high rental rates, many restrictions & regulations, high, obscure and cumbersome extra taxi charges, etc, etc).

Let's see what they can come out with next...despite their lack of logic and clumsy first shot across to uber, grab....

seldom see child seats used in vehicles in sg. in the u.s. parents will be arrested for not securing children in child safety seats. also, see many pickup trucks and lorries in sg carrying workers in cargo area. in many motoring aspects sg is still 3rd world.

We were taught in school to take the National pledge. And now even our children pledge daily in school..

pledge ourselves as one united people, regardless of race...language or religion....

And now the PM wants to pick a certain race to be the next president..Is'nt he divisive and go against the National pledge..???

One tick for TS ....keep counting....

SG is a 3rd world country. What do u expect when the PM behaves like an Ah Beng, cracks silly jokes and resorts to using the law against a 16yr old kid he cant handle?

SG is a 3rd world country when the potential next PM has not fought and won an election based on his own merit. After sneaking into parliament and apparently as likely PM, he now sells his vision that a one-party system is the way ahead for SG.

I cry for Singapore for having such leaders
