Here's why:

It is clear that only self-employed people who earn at most a small employment income will benefit from the $9,000 cash handout.

For the rest, the amount is nowhere near that. That includes employees, as well as people who run businesses, and also self-employed who earn more than $2,300 per month in side employment income.

The amount for the rest of the population is pathetic. The max is $1,200 or $1,600 straight cash depending on your household/income. The rest are in the form of GST offsets, U-save rebates, etc, which also have other qualifying criteria.

Compare this to Canada. Everyone gets $2,000 per month for four months. No qualifying criteria. No differentiation based on income or household.

Even fucked up Malaysia gives $500 to everyone. Over 4 months, that comes out to even more than our fucking pathetic $1,200 or $1,600 cash disbursement.

The majority of the $62 billion is given to businesses as wage offset. That will not prevent some retrenchment or pay cuts from taking place.

tikum tikum with sinkies using death by a thousand cuts torture tactic has been around for decades, yet (69% of) sinkies love it.

What is even more pathetic is why they have actually responded in the manner that they have. Covid-19 is obviously not the grave threat we all thought it might be they should just keep the domestic economy going full tilt and this so called pandemic will be done and dusted very quickly.

the u.s. system is a lot more complex and complicated than that. if one has already filed hisher income tax returns for 2019 and received hisher refund electronically via direct deposit, it's a piece of cake. otherwise, it's like navigating through a hellish maze.

I think my colleague kena covid19. He called in sick today. And will not be working tomorrow as well.

He was in NYC about 2 weeks ago for some conference.

As a result today I had to take his workload. And tomorrow's workload too?

Today I had to call 69 patients in total. Tomorrow there will be 75. Super busy.

That's why I didnt post much between 9am to 6pm MT. Will be same tomorrow.

hope you didn't meet him and contract whorehan virus. stay safe. eventually we will all get it, but at least if numbers are kept below 69 per ward, we can ride this out.

He had trouble coming back for work on the Monday 2 weeks back. I took his patient load. Then Tuesday they clinic told him to stay at home while they decide what to do. I also took his patient load. Wednesday to Fri I work at a different clinic. And that same week Thursday the clinic announced it was going full telemedicine.

So no. I never met him at all since he left for NYC. But the other staff dunno how. They might have met him on the Wednesday.

Sweden and Brazil are doing it your way.

Brazil is about to crumble from the caseload. Sweden hanging on, but case count and deaths are mounting rapidly. I think this won't work at all
