Singapore Govt, PAP and WP

Classic example...why the fuck we need so many overpaid $m Senior Ministers and full cabinet ministers in the PMO ?

Really chobolan but lan lan collect $m every year....
Good points...this is pap rewarding its yes men at Singaporeans expense. Privatise rewards, socialise costs. That is a reason why righteous singaporeans dont join pap. Those in pap are not righteous people

Each mayor is paid S$660,000 per yr, equivalent to the pay of US President who gets US$400k. The pay of a singaporean cleaner is S$1200 per mth whereas the minimum wage of US workers is at least US$15 per hr. This pay disparity is a very sick but truthful joke.

And it's not a full time job. Teo Sir Fcuk was running his own biz at the same time he was a mayor

Agree. Singaporeans money has been misused to reward cronies. Singapore's poor, sick and disadvantaged are neglected by the pap. PAP political leaders are well rewarded using tax payers' money. But when it comes to helping singaporeans who fall through the crack, pap says everyone must care for himself and SG must not build a welfare country

A policy paper is normally put up the government for Cabinet decision. I have yet to read any policy paper put up by pap. Why is Lawrence Wong and some silly forumners feel that WP has to put up alternative policy papers?

True, it’s more like the general directions the policies are pushed based on the party’s manifesto, of which most political parties already have them published.

Yes....no need for Alternative Parties to put up elaborate policy papers

Which means Lawrence hasn’t scrutinised WP manifesto like how Vivi did, can get Vivi to school Lawrence on reading a manifesto?

Guess who is the next recipient of the Order of Temasek...the highest award in Singapore ?

Tony Tan heads list of National Day Award winners, Singapore News ...President Tony Tan Keng Yam presenting the Order of Temasek …

Yes, many of these pap leaders are ignorant. Remember the Population White Paper? In that paper, the govt mentioned that nurses are low skilled workers. That paper was a Cabinet Paper that was signed by TCH, tabled to the full cabinet and approved by PM and all the ministers. There was a outcry abt nurses being a low skilled job, causing TCH and LHL to apologise. This is the standard of the civil service and Ministers nowadays. They are not thorough and diligent. A staff paper may be written by a Ministry Staff and cleared by the Director. To go up to the Cabinet, the paper must clear the PS and Minister. And after all these channels, no one was thorough to vet and catch such glaring mistakes?

The DPM and PM had to publicly apologise for such an obvious mistake which shd not have been cleared at the staff level. The Cabinet was slip shoddy

I worry for Singapore

The highly paid civil servants are also highly incompetent. Think of the cock-ups by the IMDA and the leakages of
the database. The most damaging thing was that during the "inquiry" we were told that the password to the
main data base was "PASSWORD"

Even young kids are told don't use passwords like these.

Yes, these are the incompetent imbeciles retained in the civil service. Good guys dont stay

Two weeks ago (25 Jul), Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced his new Cabinet line-up and the other political appointments in his government.
In particular, Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC, Low Yen Ling was promoted to Minister of State at the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) as well as at the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI). She will also remain as Mayor of South West District. There are currently 5 mayors appointed by PM Lee in Singapore.
Concurrently, she has the added responsibility of being the “Coordinator of Mayors”.
PM Lee must have thought highly of Ms Low in order to appoint her to hold 3 concurrent political positions in his government, notwithstanding also making her the “Coordinator of Mayors”.
It’s not known how Ms Low would divide her time to manage her 3 political appointments, in addition to her MP job, while trying to take care of her family.
In an interview in 2014, she told the media that the toughest part for her has been sacrificing time with her 2 boys.
“No matter how busy I am, I try my best to make time for dinner with my family at least twice a week because mealtimes are very important for us to talk about anything under the sun, for the children to share with us interesting things that happened or what bothered them,” she said.

She added that every time she can’t be home to tuck her kids into bed, she will write them a love note and leave it on their desk.
Big salary increase for Low Yen Ling
In any case, lawyer Teo Soh Lung noted that Ms Low used to earn $572,000 as Senior Parliamentary Secretary last year. Now, as Minister of State of at least one ministry, she would be earning a minimum $770,000, an increase of $198,000 or $16,500 a month.
“And she also gets her MP salary of $16,000,” added Soh Lung. “I don’t know if she also receives $660,000 from the People’s Association as Mayor.”
“How many people can get a pay rise of $16,500? Would she donate her enhanced salary to activities of the People’s Association?” asked Soh Lung.

As for opposition MP Pritam Singh, he has said that he would set aside half the pay increase he gets as Leader of the Opposition for donations to his party, residents and charities. After income tax deductions, the amount works out to be about $96,000 of his $385,000 annual salary.

The US vaccine is designed to take 3 billion people, 1 billion baby boomers first to go and old farts Leegime inclusive.

1 billion take overwhelm religious groups away.

1 billion to go take fake degree ahnehs...

Good point. Inbreeding all these years has sowed the seeds of inefficiency, ineffectiveness and cronyism in the Singapore system. Sadly despite having good candidates like Paul Tambyah, TCB, CSJ, Nicole Seah, etc, 61% silly singaporeans voted for inefficiency, ineffectiveness and cronyism on 10 Jul 2020. I hope 20% of these 61% will wake up at the next GE

Most Sinkees are brainwashed that it is beneficial to be a slave. Thanks to the 61% !

Summary - depth of talent is so shallow that they have to use the same players in all sorts of positions.
