That is why everyone knows Singapore politicans are dumb. Don't even know how to suppork the right US president.

Threw our weight behind the wrong guy and now ... backlash. Serve them right. Pity our nation has to suffer from their mistakes.

You guys have been misled. Sheldon Adelson is not a Singaporean, not a PR here, and not a politician. The only connection he has to Singapore is that he happens to be the Chairman of the Board at Marina Bay Sands.

The money he spent is all his own money. Sure, most of the money comes from Macau and some from Singapore, but the money does not belong to Macau or Singapore, it is all fully paid up into his own bank account. Neither nation "suffered from his mistake". I doubt it is really a mistake anyway. Most of the donations were made very early when it looked like the Republican nominee would have a decent chance against Obama. The money he donated is just a tiny fraction of his overall nett worth, and he stands to gain A LOT more money if a Republican wins the White House and able to push the yuan to appreciate.

In any case there's really nothing to see here. Move along folks.
