Singapore couple shamed for damaging Taiwan hotel
The pair left the tap running and set the air conditioner at 16 degrees for two whole days.
SINGAPORE : A Singaporean couple has made headlines in Taiwan after wreaking havoc at a family-owned bed-and-breakfast (B&B) in Taipei and refusing to pay for their stay there.
According to Taiwan media, the couple, who had booked the room from June 7 to 11, turned up a day earlier and checked in without owner's consent.
They also left the tap running and set the air conditioner at 16 degrees for two whole days. According to the owner, this caused ice to form around the aircon duct, leading to irreparable damages to the unit.
The damages, he said, amounted to at least NT$30,000 (S$1,300).
And when the pair left, they reportedly snitched several items from the Hello Kitty-themed room, and did not return the key.
The owner hopes to seek the help of the Singapore police to arrest the couple.
xinmsn understands that no report has been lodged with the police, and attempts to contact the couple have been in vain.
