30 yrs had passed, but Singaporeans still remembers......and the insignificant nobody me believes that it had became legendary, as precious Human lives were saved from the clutches of evil, more so within the confines of the secretive SOF unit....
The operatives - all volunteers, of that operation will remain silent and take details of it to their graves, as secrecy had been sworn, and only imposters will tell all kinds of tales.
Those operatives are indeed heroes, for saving EVERY SINGLE innocent life onboard that aircraft, with the barest info, but with critical information that the terrorists had steel knives, huge amounts of flammable alcohol and cigarette lighters with them, flammable materials such as cloth seats and lugages, as well as the aircraft that carries flammable fuel tanks located in the wings, they courageously RUSHED in to take out those terrorists before the terrorists could had blown up the plane, and them along with them should they fail......
However, they are and had been HUMBLE. It was just another day to them, as they had been trained in various threat situations regularly, over years, to save lives and even putting their own lives at great risks often.
To them, they were just ordinary Humans that had done extraordinary things during an extraordinary time, and never thought themselves as heroes......To them, the REAL heroes are FELLOW CITIZENS, beginning with the Family - the building blocks of Civilization - to produce the next generations, to strenuously work hard and smart daily, to put food on the table for oneself, loved ones, family, relatives, friends and contribute to the Nation, just like what they had done everyday.
While they are admired, in reality, they admire you - the fellow citizens - true heroes, whom had worked hard to build up our Nation together under our sacred National Pledge, silently, quietly, no celebrity status, but had laid the foundations to the next generations to make Singapore great always. Thus their willingness and faith to give up their most precious gift - their lives - for you, during extraordinary times.....
