At least 2 male cabin crew thrown out of the plane by the hijackers reported seeing no weapons on the hijackers. The hijackers even claim they had grenades but never showed it. Then they tried to burn the cabin floor with alcohol from the service cart but the alcohol wouldn't light on fire. By this time, every one knew these clowns were idiots. If they want to burn the plane, why didn't they use the grenades they claim they had. And if they were bluffing about the grenades then they are bluffing about having guns too. In the end, the SOF knew that there was a very high chance these clowns were unarmed when they stormed the plane. It was a straight execution. They did not want any prisoners in case their buddies in Pakistan start trying to hijack more SQ planes to free them.

The point is that the steward provided intel to SOF that these terrorist had no guns and grenades, and using this intel, the SOF stormed the plane to conduct an execution (not a rescue) knowing full well they will not be shot. 1) U don't hijack a plane to a non muslim country. U hijack it to a muslim country where there will be sympathy to your cause
2) U don't let the captain bluff u that he has low fuel status
3) U don't allow the plane to be moved to a remote part of the airport where it can be assaulted with no obstacles
4) U don't throw out 2 cabin stewards who were ex SAF and can give intel on your weapons and disposition on the plane. In fact, u don't release any hostages at all.
