There's a thread in fact a few on SG's SS groups. Nothing new to see. They aren't trendy anymore unlike the 90's and were not meant to be trendy anyway. The real hardcore ones would be underground more focused on business rather than petty squabbles most likely have a track record beein jailed etc something like the underworld's way of proving their worth similar to someone getting a degree/certification in the working world. Back when gangs were trendy it was just full of wannabes. PPl who tried to look/act like gangsters and the real actual gangsters. It was tough and probably still is. A wannabe would shit his pants going to the police station/ being jailed. It's not something any institution would teach you but one interesting thing is they exist in almost every society. There are Chinese/ang moh/m&d/shit skin/eurasian/middle eastern gangs engaged in criminal activites. Movies about gangsters exist in most major film industries. This proves that in a way living a life of crime does pay well but there's always the ones that crack.

It really depends on what the pappies would do to make it worthwhile to live a life of crime in sinapo. They can whack every individual with tattoos if they believe tattoos is a sign of gang affiliation or they can take it as a symbol of art. Pappies can lock away a gang member under CLTP to rot in prison or they can leave him alone.
Since pappies are practitioner of jelly laws, gangsters are often left alone to swagger around until they are caught for committing an offence but then, the punishment is often light because pappies believe in "taking into consideration" regarding multitude of charges preferred against an accused person, instead of punishing him on each charge consecutively.
