Whenever passes by East Coast area, do bring back fond memories. I love to watch those old Malay movies, especially P Ramlee movie. Certain movie they depict Sinkie old road and building. This villa, once owned by Shaw Bros. Now it houses a preschool. Tis villa, 440A Upp East Coast Rd was used for shooting Malay film during the 60s

Soy Eu Tua is in middle of pix. The row of old shophouses with brick & zinc roof has been replaced by Crescendo Bldg (Lai Huat Seafood, Royal Cafe, Health Partners etc)

Yes. Tat property was formerly owned by Shaw Bros. Tat villa was depicted in few movies acted by the legendary late P Ramlee.

Karikal Lane in Katong became very famous after The Sunny Ang Murder Case in 1963.

Sunny Ang was found guilty and sentenced to death and he was hanged on 6th Feb 1967.
