FULL-YEAR profits at Singapore Airlines fell almost 80 per cent to $216 million for the 12 months ended March 31.

Turnover hit $12.7 billion compared to almost $16 billion in the year before that.

For the last quarter from January to March, profits were up more than six-fold to $278 million while revenue remained almost unchanged at $3.3 billion.

The airline is proposing a final dividend of 12 cents per share.

All the major subsidiaries in the Group - SIA Engineering, SilkAir and SIA Cargo - achieved better operating results in the fourth quarter, from a year ago.
