Scraps of metals falling down but managed to land at Changi, anyone got further infos? Can't check now....

SINGAPORE : Singapore Airlines (SIA) said it has no plans to ground its current fleet of 10 Airbus A380-800 aircraft.

This comes after the Australian flag carrier, Qantas, grounded its fleet of A380s after one of its aircraft was forced to land in Singapore with engine trouble on Thursday morning.

In its statement on Thursday, SIA said its operations are continuing as normal.

SIA added that it is premature at this point to speculate on the cause of the incident, and it is awaiting advice from its aircraft and engine manufacturers as the investigation progresses.

In 2007, SIA was the first airline to fly the A380 superjumbo, which can carry more than 500 passengers.

Four other airlines currently fly the aircraft, including, Qantas, Emirates, Air France and Lufthansa.

This is not the first time that an A380 aircraft has encountered engine problems.

In September 2009, a Singapore-bound SIA A380 flight was forced to turn around mid-flight and head back to Paris after one of its four engines failed. - CNA /ls

It just mean that SIA care more about money than their customer life.
While qantas care more about life than money.

Dont be bo liao lah

You so wish to see planes explode and people die?

SIA's planes are one of the youngest fleet in the world with planes never more than 5 years of age, even the fleet of training learjets.

Quit trying to say such sway things.

based on the postings here, there was no explosion. What the kampung folks in batam heard was the jettisoned fuel tanks crashing down to earth from the plane.

Not the aircraft but one of the engines. Engine failure attributed to engine manufacturer but not to the A380 aircraft manufacturer.

His header says SIA 380.
Not Qantas.
???

smelly pondan ahneh Alamaking cannot even differentiate between SIA and Qantas..

Paiseh, at batam, not padang

Wah, for a moment I thought City Hall and the two Durians will be smashed.

The next time you fark, don't tell everyone the world is exploding!!

Making a fool of yourself???

Bottom line :
Better to shut your mouth like a fool, than to open your mouth to confirm that you are a fool.

Frankly now I'm worried. If it were just A380s you can just ground them. An A380 and a B747? That means it's the engine. Hopefully SIA's 380s are not Rolls Royce driven.
