Sacked? Have you seen who's on the board of directors for SMRT?

Also, Lui Tuck Yew has no balls to even reprimand her.

The ex-DFS salesgirl will keep her cushy job for quite a while.

In a govt or a GLC, the govt will rarely allow you to resign as it directly indicate their flaws. They will take sometime and move you over to another role. This govt has never admitted to anything until the GE when the son made the apology.
sack? what sack? Saw would resign immediately if she had any ounce of shame :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Is the tide changing now?

SMRT CEO says she would consider calls to resign

by Lin Yanqin

SINGAPORE - Facing the media for the first time since SMRT experienced one of its worst rail disruptions to date, SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Hwa today apologised to the 127,000 commuters who were affected by the incident yesterday.

On public calls for her and other senior management to resign, Ms Saw said that while she would consider resigning if necessary, she would reserve her opinion on the matter for the time being.

That is the normal way it is done. However if they follow SOP, Minister Lui would not be able to gain any brownie points and contain the political damage of this incident.

If he wants those brownie points, he will have to man up, act like a mighty PAP Minister and ask for her resignation.

In any case, these are new times and a new PAP. If Ministers can cry and a Prime Minister can apologise, why can't a blundering CEO be asked to resign?

exactly. there is never any 'do the honourable thing and resign ' . It is tantamount to conceding that they made a mistake in the selection process and so far thats a no no.

There usually is a sideways movement or the person slowly fades away

This type of threads are waste of time.
We all know she deserves to be sacked many times over.
Reality is she will be getting fat bonuses and continue on.
Neither will she resign because people like this got no shame.
So carry on ranting here and taking the lousy MRT while she continue to zip around in her Ferrari and Merc S500.
