A nation w 3.5 miilion people back in 1990 did better than Malaysia 17.5 million. Its about quality not quantity.
Singapore gov is buisness minded and move and adapt with new technology and biz, ride the tide and wind.
But India is not. India did the right thing back in 1980s which was compulsory education for min primary to sec 4 standard for his people. Yes, good to hv that which later upgraded to be a nation of educated people which the West like.
But as India climb up the ladder, they did not create vocational institutions for skill trades and universities to cater for the these sec 4 students which 80% need a trade skills. And the 20% move up to A level and then to unis.
Just dumb enough to create sec 4 education but not good enough to create trade skills for industries need.
Then IT boom came in 1900s and India young people go into IT industry leaving trade skills shortage of students.
This is why Indian cannot do manufacturing industries they hv shortages of skilled trades and engineers.
You see these Indians are stealing white collar jobs, and these jobs are not that locals cannot do.
This shows that PAP failed the Singapore people they give away white collars jobs to India.
Why FW are Idians in constructions and trade skills jobs.
Not that construction jobs required high trade skills. 1 year in vocational school can pick up the trade knowledge and work in construction sites.
The problems PAP are facing with shortage of construction trade skills workers was that they are building an estate, not just build 1 or 2 block of buildings here and there.
Therefore, Cost and Materials planning schedules are tight. No delays, construction Quantity Survey hv tight schedule to enforce building materials are ready on sites to be installed on time and everytime.
Building an estates estate consist of roads, street lights, hawker centres, shops, residential and commercial buildings, schools are to be build according to stages of construction progress.
As such, you now see 40,000 FW for construction of an estate is jist about right. So does locals has 40,000 skilled construction work force?
Then greedy PAP pockets are open everywhere in PA industry to pay for jiakleowbee to go holidays, karaoke and eat mangoes together.

awwww,come on ! we are nation of mere 6 odd million people only lah ...they are a nation of more than a billion...they can put the entire lot of us in just one portion of their major cities ...how could we sinkie be any better in education or whatever ...they can beat us hands down in almost anything we do or want to do
but we are entitle to is, the privilage of being a born and bred ....which cannot be put on scale for comaprssion even with anyone anywhere however good...simply put Singaporean comes first regardless.
