TVNZ host suspended over racist comments
A New Zealand TV host has been suspended after making a series of racially-charged comments during the Commonwealth Games.
Paul Henry, who appears on the TVNZ program Breakfast, last week stirred controversy when he mocked the name of Games troubleshooter Sheila Dikshit.
"The dip shit woman. God, what's her name? Dick Shit. Is it Dick Shit ... it looks like 'Dick Shit'," Henry said.

Henry was told that the correct pronunciation of the name was closer to "Dixit", but he continued with the ridicule.
"It's so appropriate, because she's Indian, so she'd be dick-in-shit wouldn't she, do you know what I mean? Walking along the street ... it's just so funny," he said.
On Monday this week he sparked further outrage, asking New Zealand Prime Minister John Key if Governor-General Sir Anand Satyanand was "even a New Zealander".
"Are you going to choose a New Zealander who looks and sounds like a New Zealander this time?" he asked.
"Are we going to go for someone who is more like a New Zealander this time?"
Sir Anand has an Indo-Fijian background but was born in Auckland.
TVNZ has suspended Henry following the comments until October 18, but some are calling for a harsher punishment.
Peter Dunne, leader for the NZ political party United Future, said the comments were gratuitous and insulting.
"An eight-day suspension is really the proverbial slap with the wet train ticket," he told the NZ Herald.
"I think he should go completely. I think that will be a sign of Television New Zealand committing to a multi-cultural New Zealand."
Russel Norman, co-leader of the Green Party, also reportedly said TVNZ should consider sacking Henry.
