Hong Kong did produce their own local olympics gold sailing medalist, countries with populations as small as singapore do get qualified for world cup.

Ask any schooling local children in our primary school and secondary schools, how they would feel if their school betrays them and import a foreign student out of no-where to represent the school, who cannot even sing the school song or national anthem. These sportsmen just want a chance to represent the institution that they are proud to associate with.

Sports is not business. Some things are just for family-members. Today we import sportsmen, tomorrow we import policemen, in future how? Then, why have a family in the first place?
