SDP was a pap-approved opposition when the legendary Chiam See Tong was Sec-Gen. When CSJ took over, it changed direction. Just like the WP was a threat to the PAP under JBJ, then LTK took over and it became more acceptable. Character and personality of the Sec-Gen will dictate how the PAP treats the party.
