Had the Turkish ambassador lost his mind, or had he been partying & drinking here in Singapore, too much, when he made such a statement, as a representative of the suffering Turkish People now, in grief & shock beyond words????

What can money do now, when Turkey is in an economic standstill, along even its stock market suspended? What can a grieving parent do with money for their loved ones, when even the dead are left in hospitals- unidentified? What shops are open now in the devastated quake hit areas that survivors can patronize?

It is also beyond words for us Singaporeans to accept his greed, when out of our hard earned money to send pragmatic goods rather than money that can be deposited elsewhere than to our fellow Humans in Turkey. It is an INSULT to the good nature of Singapore citizens for the Turkish People. Should he, as a representative, do NOT need our help, we Spore citizens have MORE areas in our WORLD that needs & APPRECIATES our realistic & pragmatic help.

May he retracts his foolish words, APOLOGIZE to our nation for our heartfelt efforts, or else, may the Turkish President send someone else better & sober to represent the Turkish People.

Heaps of disaster relief request always ask for money. The reason is they can just buy the supplies and buy what is needed. Product donations have to sort out n send etc requiring human resource to sort out n of course shipping etc. However the real reason is it's harder to skim off the top n harder to give cronies business.
