My rarely and seldom given salute to the young and courageous Singapore SAF pilots and crew members whom went into a DANGER ZONE to bring back our fellow citizens, honoring our sacred National Pledge -regardless of race, language or religion, etc - to leave NONE behind.
While most even Humankind ASS U ME s that it was an easy job, it is not as presumed from the comfort of an armchair,
Those SAF pilots and crew were flying thru WW3, with missiles, military jet fighters and radar lock-on, of every kind and sides, every moment that they are flying into the danger zone, and anything could had happen. Yet they bravely fought on, with only one thing and motivation in mind, even if they had to lose and sacrifice their lives, to bring fellow citizens home....
My salute too, to PM Wong and his Cabinet Ministerial team, whom had been working and talking tirelessly to EVERY nation involved in the war, to plead and cajole with every social skill technique they could muster up, with even cold sweat dripping from their foreheads, as such negotiations are never easy ......for our Repatriation aircraft - not a luxury jet liner, but a military aircraft that needs only short landing and takeoff length space, best under such tight and dangerous situations, to safely fly into that dangerous airspace, land, load and fly off, with missiles and bombs going off any minute......
All of such would had been unnecessary, had those whom where there had heeded our MFA early warnings to leave immediately, weeks ago, and no need to risk lives and efforts, no matter the self centered pathetic excuses often made......
May our brave young SAF pilots and flight crew be awarded the prestigious Medal of Honor for their courageous deed and inspire the old and new....each life is precious and means something special to another...
