MANILA, Philippines—Some 30 Singapore police officers have arrived in Manila for a four-day study tour at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters at Camp Crame.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) delegation, led by assistant commissioner Lim Kok Thai, was welcomed Wednesday by Deputy Director General Geary Barias, deputy chief for operations of the PNP.
They were oriented on the different facilities and programs of the PNP, including its counter-terrorism efforts and the country’s peace and order situation, Barias said.
The delegates also toured facilities of the Philippine Bomb Data Center, the National Operations Center, the PNP Crime Laboratory, and the PNP Museum.
They are also set to visit the Special Action Force headquarters and the PNP Academy.
Barias said the study tour will help strengthen the alliance between the two countries’ police.
“I am optimistic that this will be another wonderful opportunity for us to impart some of our knowledge to the participants as well as learn something from the delegates too,†he said.
