FRONT-ROW seats for fireworks are usually in high demand, especially during the annual National Day Parade (NDP) and the preview shows leading up to Aug 9.
But yesterday's display may have been a little too close for comfort for Mr Ryan Sia and his family, who were dining outdoors at Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant at One Fullerton.
A cylindrical object had landed on his 20-year-old daughter's dinner plate during the fireworks display at last night's Preview.
NDP 2011 is being held at the Marina Bay floating platform, located just a few hundred metres away from the restaurant, which overlooks the Marina Bay area.
One Fullerton is also a popular spot for people who were unable to get tickets to the Parade or previews to catch the fireworks display.
'We were having dinner and enjoying the fireworks when suddenly, a projectile fell from the sky and bounced off my daughter's plate,' said Mr Sia, 52.
