Most Singaporeans would had missed the SYMBOLISMS & inspiration of hope thru realities displayed by DPM Wong, but for those who know better & have a critical mind, would had noticed it.
1)DPM Wong need not even need to eat chicken rice, as his salary can afford him far more epicurean tastes for his daily 3 meals from unlimited cuisines & better surroundings in our metropolitan nation. But he chose to eat his meal, simple fare that most average fellow hardworking Singaporeans eat for a quick meal before heading back to work or home, & at simple surroundings - the food court. It is a display that despite his affluence, he is able to be like the average citizens, & in touch with all.
2)There was much concern about our nation's food supply, being that we are not an agrarian society, with very limited agricultural resources, but being a port city, we will never need to worry about food supply, as Singapore is strategically located where all compass point meets & most goods passed through Singapore. We Singaporeans will never go hungry, no matter the circumstances - political or due to nature, so long as we citizens have capable & able minded leaders to get things done.
3)In spite of the difficulties & fears currently faced by Humankind Worldwide, but through courage, ingenuity & resourcefulness, never to be held hostage in any form - political or economic, we Singapore as a whole is still standing, & no citizen had been deprived of their national dish & favorite meal. However, we must NEVER be complacent. It took a lot of effort by many other citizens to overcome this crisis, but TOGETHER, thru constructive discussions & finding solutions with one goal & aim, collectively we will be able to put food on the table for ourselves & loved ones.
Thank you DPM Wong, & cheers. No mortal is perfect, nor any Being promised life will be a bed of roses daily. So long as we persevere, as our great founding & forefathers had taught us, with courage & legendary resilience, we will survive & strive hard for a better future, no matter any other ordeals, any odds, for ourselves & loved ones, & critically - the innocent generations to come, with hope for a better future, built by us this generation, & leave no one behind....
