The SAF should set up claymore mines and detonate them when intruding cyclists pass by.

How the man was conveyed from the forest to the hospital? Luckily got his cycling khakis help or else paramedics will have trouble locating him.

But since when did saf conduct live firing into the jungles?
They are always restricted to the fixed target within the firing range de woh.

Those nuisance cyclists are everywhere!!! Even venturing into restricted areas. He should've been hit in the head. Still, I am proud of the shooter for trying to get rid of those cycling pests.
May I suggest you to be the hero to turn up at the next parliament hearings with your ak and get rid of all the pests there?
:eek::biggrin:
You will feel proud for eternity.

The range was 2.5km away. The trajectory of the round was clearly ballistic ie, somebody had to fire it up into the air and not horizontally to the target.

This proves how really bobo shooter are in the SAF. HAHAHAHA
Or some hanky panky going on with soldiers firing happily into the air! And the police says no foul play suspected?

How could a shot on the air injure someone's back?

Before that, you should be sent in to build them into puppies.

Then you will have gained recognition for your contribution, which is what is missing in your punter's life.

Bullet drop
OK now I know why.
He hunched back cycling.

a bullet shot straight up can fall back down and potentially injure or kill someone, but it depends on how it was fired and at what angle.

What Happens When a Bullet is Fired into the Sky?

1.

  • The bullet slows down due to gravity, eventually stops, and then falls back.
  • As it falls, it no longer spins and loses aerodynamic stability, so it tumbles.
  • Its terminal velocity (falling speed) is much lower than its firing speed — usually around 150–300 km/h (90–180 mph) depending on the bullet.

At this speed, it can still cause serious injury or even death, especially to the head or neck, but it's less likely to penetrate the skull than a directly fired bullet.

2.

  • This is more dangerous.
  • The bullet keeps forward spin and velocity, staying more stable in flight.
  • It can travel over 1–2 km and still strike with lethal force when it lands.

Many accidental deaths from celebratory gunfire occur this way — firing at an upward angle, not vertically.

Real-World Data:

  • Studies have shown that falling bullets have killed people, especially children and people outdoors during events (weddings, New Year, etc.).
  • A U.S. study found that falling bullets caused death in about 20% of injury cases — compared to 2–6% in typical firearm assaults.

Summary:

✅ Yes, a bullet fired into the sky can fall and penetrate a person, especially if it’s shot at an angle and retains forward velocity.
Even a purely vertical shot can be dangerous, though less likely to cause deep penetration than a direct shot.
