There is a cartoon depicting rise of the economy brought about by support from the govt. Now doesn’t this carton look like it’s from the straits times? All the characteristic of the typical straits times cartoon are present here. How on earth did this American (I presume) talk show get hold of this cartoon?
On a serious note, assuming that the cartoon is indeed from the straits times, I wonder what the accompanying straits times article would have been articulating. I bet it was something about how a fantastic job the Singapore govt is doing in propping up the economy; thereby avoiding recession, job losses yada, yada....
Ironically the talk show depicting this cartoon is talking about how bad it is for govts to artificially prop up economies and how markets should be left free.
A ton of a difference from what straits times would want us to believe and how things really should be done.
