The regime paid lip service to the sick motto 'every peasant children counts' but the reality differs.

For example, not many peasants remembered the old debates between Duke Teo and political pariah Chiam over the issue of compulsory education. Dissenter Chiam was agitating for the all powerful regime to ensure peasant parents send their children to state schools. Inconceivable that the Peasantpore regime exercise harsh controls over peasants' lives but neglects to ensure all peasant children gets a decent education despite their family background.

Suddenly peasant neighbourhood schools with big heap of basket ball hooligans are lauded as 'basketball centers of excellence'. Smarter principals even took the initiative to cull difficult subjects e.g. literature for improved showing at the O Levels attributed to the branding exercises. With such trickery, principals still earn their KPIs for supporting MoE's branding exercise but failed to address 3 major important deficiencies

1. Rote & exams based learning
2. Underfunding for neighbourhood schools especially those with large population of poor peasant children
3. No a single fucker or MoE lackey emerge from their abyss and spoke up for handicapped or special needs education.

Despite globalization's demand for critical thinking peasants and advances in pre-school education, fat cat MoE career civil serpents championed the old rote learning and threw in red herring 'school branding' to show peasants that reforms are on the way. There was hardly any attempt to revamp the syllabus, improve nursery education for poor peasants or increase funding for neighbourhood schools despite earning big bucks from the Casinos.

These lucky parents were able to send their wastrel spawns to 'popular' schools even if their charges hardly qualify for the schools in the first place but made possible via affiliation.

In addition, MoE turned a blind eye to rich merchants who game the system by buying properties near well funded schools despite complaints from numerous netizens and poor peasant parents.
