Sex with girl, 15, extortion

<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A 20-YEAR-OLD man was charged in court on Wednesday with having sex with an underage girl and extorting $500 from her. Xavier Toh Wei Kiat, 20, allegedly had consensual sex with the 15-year-old girl at his Sengkang home on six occasions in June last year and extorted from her on Aug 20.
He is also accused of getting the girl to perform oral sex on him at a toilet for the handicapped at HarbourFront between June and early July last year.
The ninth charge states that he was found to have had a 50cm-long wooden rod without lawful purpose along Pasir Ris Park on March 11 this year. If convicted of the sex offences, he can be jailed for up to 10 years and/or fined on each charge. The maximum penalty for extortion is seven years and caning, and for possession of weapon, two years. A pre-trial conference will be held on Jan 22.
