Sex Slavery Victims Hold 1,100th Rally
[2013-11-13, 19:04:37]

About 200 South Korean victims of wartime sex slavery and their supporters held their 1,100th weekly rally on Wednesday in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul.
The Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan demanded an official apology and compensation from Tokyo for the victims of Japan's forced sex slavery during World War Two.
The council said the United Nations and many other organizations have asked Japan to resolve the issue. But the council said the issue remains unresolved and it called for Seoul’s active diplomatic efforts.
The protesters also urged the government to ensure a proper history education at schools, noting history textbooks used in South Korea are downplaying the issue.
The sex slavery victims have held the rally every Wednesday for more than 20 years.
