Hypocrisy of ST on SEX BLOGGER'S SCHOLARSHIP TERMNATED story
"ASEAN scholar Alvin Tan, who gained notoriety for posting explicit photos and videos of himself and his girlfriend online, has been stripped of his scholarship. The 24-year old Malaysian student was not expelled but will have to pay full, unsubsidised fees if he wants to complete the remaining year of his law degree course at the NUS, a source told the Straits Times today." - Page A8 Straits Times
An unamed "source" which allows them run big headlines? Whatever happened to their concept that anyone who was not prepared to sign off with his real name is not credible?
There was not even something along the line of "it is believed that ....." - they just state it as a fact, using an unnamed source.
This hypocrisy can only be matched by the wishy-washy NUS authorities who are so money-faced ("you jolly well pay full fare if you want to continue!") and in doing so, delinked between the shame, the crime and the moral issue. Has education, let alone tertiary education been reduced to such a state of moral decay? To a few thousand dollars?
