The Sewol Ferry sinking and Little India riots show the huge difference between Korea and SG leaders
Sewol Captain and some ship staff ran away from their sinking ferry to save their own lives. SG Police Officers ran away from the rioters to save their own lives. Both sets of officers are a disgrace to their vocations.
The Korean govt reacted correctly bu arresting the captain and staff. As a show of remorse and accountability, The President apologised to the nation and the pm resigned to take responsibility.
The PAP govt shamelessly praised the SPF Officers and feted them. Was the aim to deny the pap leaders of poor leadership and taking responsibility?
It's time LHL and the pap learn what's accountability and take responsibility should officers are negligent in their jobs, bring them to task and not sweep the problem under the carpet. Otherwise, we will see a bigger problem in negligence of reponsibility in the future when public officers run away from areas of trouble when they shd be present to handle the trouble. Is LHL sending a wrong message to our public servants that it's ok to run from problem areas?
t's time LHL learns from how Korean leaders deal with Sewol Ferry accident and restore Singaporeans' trust in his leadership
