Seven teens arrested for assault and robbery

SINGAPORE: Seven youths aged between 13 and 18 have been arrested for a case of robbery along Fajar Road. Police said in a news release on Friday (Sep 5) that the suspects were arrested the day before.
The youths, all male, are suspected of being involved in an assault on a 21-year-old man on Aug 31. They allegedly robbed him of his wallet and mobile phone.
Officers from the Jurong Police Division established the identities of the suspects after reviewing CCTV images.
Six of the suspects will be charged in court on Saturday. They could face at least 5 years' jail, and not more than 20 years' prison if convicted of the offence of robbery with hurt. They could also face at least 12 strokes of the cane.
The seventh suspect is still being investigated. - CNA/ly
