SEVEN men are due to be brought before a special sitting of Cashel District Court this morning, charged in connection with the attack on Thursday on the home of businessman Mark Corcoran and his wife Emma.

Gardai said the men, who were arrested hours after the incident at Killenaule three days ago, were all charged with aggravated burglary.

Mark and Emma Corcoran were threatened and attacked in front of their three young children after an armed gang broke into their home in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The gang smashed their way in through the front window at 3am and escaped with jewellery and around 1,500 euro in cash.

Five men were arrested by armed gardai outside Naas 90 minutes later while the other two were detained hours later at Newlands Cross.

They were held at Garda stations across Co Tipperary and last night, following consultations with the Director of Public Prosecutions, all seven were charged.

The seven have been charged with aggravated burglary and will appear in court at 11am.
