Seven accused of hurting two elderly men

SINGAPORE: Seven people, aged between 16 and 31, have been charged with hurting two elderly men.

The accused are Eswaran Rajasevran, 31; Elangovan Rajalingam, 22; R Shivam Roy, 16; Raveen Balakrishnan, 19; Muhammad Faizal Syed Abu Thahir, 21; Viikneesh Koh, 16, and Thevanraj Sandra Segaran, 18.

They are accused of hurting Mr Leong Kok Weng, 61, and Mr Garnell Malcolm Dougals, 60, at about 1.30am on October 12 in Circuit Road.

They allegedly hurt the two men with a parang.

If found guilty of rioting with a weapon, each of the accused can be sentenced up to 10 years' jail, as well as caning.

There is always a number to dial whenever you have a dispute with the other party. Why should it be ended this way?
 
So teaching the young to help old man cross the street is just an aspiration?

We're progressing towards a careless society and imitates the west. Even China is imitating the West nowadays, but all the bad points.
 
Looks like another case of bullying. Youngsters bullying elderly, many bullying few. Seems to be more and more of such cases these days.
Sad state of affairs.
