Most residents new to condo living yearn for the private swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, round-the-clock security, landscape gardens etc., but have no idea of the cost and hard work that goes into maintaining these facilities.

there's also another kind that "volunteers" on the committees - the ground floor dwellers. These ones want to sit on the MC to exert power so that no one stops them from encroaching into the common areas outside their unit. they will put potted plants all over as if it is their own garden

Mandarin Gardens has been dubbed as Mumbai Gardens. S'poreans staying there renamed the condo as such because of the high concentration of foreign nationals from India who bought about 40% of the apts and have become arrogant in the development.

It depends on the condo and location. Some condos are infested with lanjiao langs. So do your research before committing to buy a unit and staying there.

I have both good and bad neighbours at my condo. A few bad apples do not to spoil the overall experience for me living there all these years.

Alot of companies lease all these condos to CECA expats. That includes Bayshore Park and Laguna Park as well

There are an increasing number of CECA tenants at condos along Dunearn Road and Bukit Timah.

There are several such difficult residents at my condo, and when they were asked to serve in the council since they have so many grouses, they declined, claiming to be too busy. After I urged them in private to serve, they all admitted that it is a thankless task, and flatly refused. The irony of it all.
