Who’s the “other girl” in City Harvest case?

(Left) Serina Wee was City Harvest’s finance manager up until 2007 after which Sharon Tan (right) took over. Not much is known of Sharon Tan Shao Yuen but she was promoted from senior account to finance manager to take over Serina when she left.

She has often been overshadowed by the stylish Wee, whom the local blogosphere has been enamoured with. But since last week, the 38-year-old Tan has been matching Wee in the fashion sweepstakes, dressing fashionably for her court appearances, and also causing a stir amongst local media when she turns up at the Sub Courts.

Both are among the six City Harvest Church leaders accused of embezzling over S$50 million in church funds to help launch the US pop music career of Pastor Kong Hee’s wife, Ho Yeow Sun, through bogus bond investments. The six could face prison terms ranging from 10 to 20 years.
