Serial online conman arrested

A 25-year-old man believed to be involved in at least 10 cases of online cheating has been arrested.
He is suspected of tricking several victims into transferring money to purchase electronic equipment and Universal Studios Singapore (USS) tickets which did not materialise.
Police officers arrested the suspect at Lorong 6 Toa Payoh on July 10 at about 1pm. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had cheated at least 10 victims of more than $2,500 between Dec 2011 and May 2012.
The suspect will be charged in court on July 12 for cheating. If found guilty, he faces up to 10 years' jail and a fine.
