SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 53-year-old man who is believed to be involved in several cases of milk powder theft at supermarkets in Yishun.

The suspect was believed to have made away with tins of milk powder by putting them into a plastic bag he had with him.

It is also believed that the suspect profited by selling off the stolen tins of milk powder at a cheaper price.

The suspect's identity was established through CCTV footage and this was shared with supermarkets in the area.

He was spotted by a security officer of a supermarket in Yishun on Thursday and later detained by the Police.

The suspect will be charged in Court on Saturday.

If convicted, he can be jailed up to seven years and fined.
