With all the corruption cases of sex as bribes and the Bromptomgate scandal, every suspicious move within our Ministries and Stat Boards has to be looked with scrutiny. The latest case is the resignation of a Director of Corporate Communications, Ministry of Health Holdings.

Note how the ST plays down the seriousness of the issue by simply implying the case was one of non-compliance.

There are 'termites' in the system & it is rotten from the core!. It is not rare for a number of years already for those working in the civil service to display opulence. I have a young relative who after working for a number of years in the 'poodle force' got promoted, is driving a brand new BMW & have three kids. When I was younger, the civil servants I know, will rarely display their wealth! Working in the civil service is a road to wealth, these days!

So much for the 'pay them high or else they become corrupt' theory.

What I don't understand is that while the officer concerned had also given work to the vendor (who was her cousin) on several occations before, MOH can declare that there was no evidence of fraud or criminal wrongdoing. So she gets away by just quiting?

True. Probably this officer is senior enough to be in the upper echelons of the civil service. But, majority of civil servants are really not that highly paid vs the private sector.

It depends on the job and the industry in the private sector. And for the public sector, which payscale you are on depends on whether you are a scholar, whether you have an honours degree, degree vs diploma etc.

At least when it comes to civil service, the perks and bonuses keep rolling in and are largely unaffected by quarterly corporate results. As long as there is tax revenue, civil servants will get paid. In the private sector, if the product is not selling well or if a competitor is eating up your company's market share, you are fucked.

The Singapore Civil Service from Div 1 is the best paid anywhere in the world. From superscale onwards, the jump is very high.

Civil Service payscale is no longer freely available like pther countries or as in the past. When a request made in Parliament, the disclosure is generic and very confined. There are also various schemes within the scholar ranks and they are not even aware that somone holding the same grade can draw a higher salary.

They cannot hide political office renumeration so most people are only focused on it. The higher for senior civil servants makes it more platable to carry out roles that are politically driven. The good ones will leave for the private sector if there is no premium for unplatable work. NTUC senior pay scheme mirrors the Civil Service. Just ask Halimah Yaacob to declare her renumeration. 99% of NTUC members will drop dead from shock

what kind of remuneration figure can make people dead from shock?

.

heard from radio ; Halimah is still staying

in her HDB flat ...

she got buy pte or not ?

Sometime ago, i was walkimg towards Tanglin Shopping Centre when current PM , then a cabinet Minister came in his 6 year Honda Accord with Security Branch in their more expensive and newer Volva following behind. Parked in front and he walked to National Tailor to have his pink shirts made.

So humble, so frugal and in the meantime behind Tanglin Shopping Centre is Cuscaden Road where HPL House is, the first family was buying Nassim Jade and Scotts and flipping it. It ran into couple of millions.

One of the first to flip is his sister who made an attractive sum. The same sister this week wrtoe about how her father while on State visit would wash his own underwear.

It will be good if the sister in her next article tells us in detail how she came to be aware of the soft launch, why she bought 2 properties and flipped one quickly, the rationale for doing so, and why what she and her family do in private is so far from what she write in her articles for the public.

Its like a serial rapist advocating celibacy before marriage.

Those people must have made enough $$$

Now it's time for a new team to get their share of the perks

I wonder how far back this latest MOH kelong case goes? If it's more than 1 year, isn't that Khaw Boon Wan the Minister of Health then?

I do believe our very clever civil servants do know how to classify the KELONG Ministers and I wouldn't be surprised that Khaw Boon Want top this KELONG ministers' list, judging from his very impressive track record.

it should have been .

resigned must also explain !!!

Some of them are too greedy. Instead of taking their loot & enjoying it in retirement in Australia, Canada, etc. They continue milking the system. What's worse is that because it's so easy to get away with it, they get too greedy & brazen. Wouldn't surprise me if this person got caught because of a tip off to the authorities by a jealous colleague. :D

when its a cunt who does all these, strangely enough they wont be charged. cos they haf this natural ability to sneak their way out of any given situation and authorities will turn a blind eye to their misdeeds. cos im a pussy remember? im gentle...? when its a man who does this, all hell breaks looses. even his backside hair will be counted by the corruption authorities. the fucking lao cheeby aware group full of fucking ugly losers must be disbanded.

It's called the 'pussy pass'. Some so-called 'progressive' countries are even worse: Australia, Sweden, UK, USA. They have an entire ministry or govt department dedicated to women's issues.

The 60% are already 'brain dead', how would this shock them?, they are walking dead, nothing will revive them!.
