I sense no sincerity in your so-called apology because, while you claim to be apologizing, you are clearly not doing so. You are simply making a statement that serves to absolve yourself from bearing true responsibility for your words. Furthermore, it is clearly not an apology when you are actually accusing the public of misconstruing your words. If your words had been misconstrued, what do you truly have to apologize for? Perhaps those who have misconstrued your words should apologize instead.

This, I think, highlights one of the problems that plague the members of your political party. To you, you are never really wrong—you are misquoted, misread and misunderstood, but you are never miscreants. Your apologies will never show that you are wrong for they are meant to show that you are wronged. And, with an air of finality, you will tell people to move on and focus on what you deem to be the important issue

Yea, it's like saying I am sorry that you took offence, or that you felt that way, not I am sorry for offending you.

my sentiments exactly.....why cant they just say something like '' hey guys i am sorry , i fucked up this time and i will try to make up for it by.......''

But its next to impossible for the EQless characters to do something like this....not in 1000 years.

It was never an apology. It was PAP damage control.

Think about it. Quite an amount of time had elapsed between the remarks and the 'apology'.

Halimah Yacob opened her mouth.

Clearly, the 'apology' wasn't spontaneous and had to be discussed beforehand.

lianbeng tells ah seng off, "sorry no cure lah! wait u kana burned again we say sorry can or not?"

It's a gay song. I'd be worried if it's in PAP dictionary or KTV library.

Pleas lah!, I have been listening to that for years, does it mean I am gay?. KTV library don't think so...
