Man dies on tracks at Sembawang station

<!-- end mm_moodcontainer div --> Several STOMPers have reported that the MRT service on the North-South line was disrupted by an incident at Sembawang station. An SCDF spokesperson has confirmed that the service disruption at Sembawang station at about 11.40am today (May 28) is caused by a man who died on the tracks.
Said STOMPer Jessica:
"Train is delayed for 60mins at Sembawang MRT! The Police have cordoned the area off, and there are ambulances at the scene.
"The train heading towards Marina Bay is stopped dead in its tracks, what is happening?"
STOMPer subbx also reported:
"Not sure what happened from across the road but 1 ambulance and fire engine are at the scene.
"SCDF personnel can be seen climbing onto the tracks."
STOMPer Gopinath assumed that the train broke down:
"MRT heading to Marina Bay broke down at Sembawang station at around 11.45 am today"
Latest update:
An SCDF spokesperson has confirmed that the service disruption at Sembawang station at about 11.40am today (May 28) is caused by a man who died on the tracks.
The spokesperson said:
"Man was extricated from underneath the second carriage of the south-bound train. Victim was declared dead at the scene."
