俄罗斯在叙利亚问题上到底在坚持什么？
答案应该是这样：与其说是在挺巴沙尔，不如说是在反对美欧动不动就“冠冕堂皇”地干涉一国内政的做法。与其说是反对美欧的做法，不如说是在维护联合国原则。与其是说在维护联合国原则，不如说是在维护自己在叙利益。与其说是在维护其在叙利亚的利益，不如说是在维护大国在中东的动态平衡。而这一动态平衡对中东地区的动态稳定显然至关重要。
俄方当然明白，在安理会和联大对涉叙决议案连续投出反对票，其象征意义大于其实际意义。尤其是联大决议，其政治外溢效益大于法律约束力。但俄方还是继续坚持其一贯的立场。
俄方也清楚，这种坚持可能并不会改变这一事态的某种“必须结果”。但对俄而言，在叙利亚问题上“过程的坚持”也许并不亚于其“结果的必然”。
当然，也还是有人认为，俄罗斯在叙利亚问题上的立场似乎存在着不可预测性和潜在的变数。因为，在俄外交政策中，只有“变”才是不变的……
俄战略文化基金会网站18日发表一篇题为《联合国骗子》的分析文章指出，根据联合国宪章，联大不能审议安理会正在审议的问题。因此，西方联盟及其中东盟友在联大通过叙利亚决议的做法，明显违反了联合国宪章。
这篇文章预测：“美欧下一步针对叙利亚的行动，可能就是将此事移交至国际刑事法院。而这对俄罗斯将是一个新的挑战，因为这种移交只能通过安理会才能实现。或许，届时又将出现对行使否决权进行挑衅的新行动，最终引发大规模的反俄歇斯底里行动。美欧此举极可能进一步激化阿拉伯人和其他穆斯林民众对俄罗斯的敌视，甚至不排除美欧借这种激化了的仇视来影响俄罗斯总统大选的选情。”
