SBF PE Polls Analysis - Revelation!!

TCB not only supported by pap grassroot, he is very popular in the western part of singapore (pap vote bank). When he was in ama keng as GP, he is well like by the lowly educated chinese residents. While most of the older folks then had pass on, their children who now in their 40-50s still remember him fondly. I was told by a ex chua chu kang resident that after becoming a MP, TCB clinic was pack with ppl everyday not for medical consultation but residents going there to seek TCB help.

Me too. Heard of people who knew him in the early days and fondly remembers him as someone warm and affectionate. I think if you are genuinely good and treat people well in your course of life, they will naturally speak up for you. Will this PE be another blow after the one in GE? :D

TJS is taking the stand of a vocal anti-establishment. That appeals to many but is the "many" enough? That is the uncertainty. There are some who simply cannot make themselves voting for "vocal anti-establishment" or seeing him win. How large is these "some"?

If it is TT vs TCB, we know for sure TT won't win. The PAP knows it and that is why TJS is granted the COE, to the surprised of many, including TJS. The "higher" the chance that TJS might get voted in, the higher the number who might otherwise voted for TCB might "return" to save TT. That is another unknown.

In other words, the "lower" TCB gets, the "higher" TT gets.

Frankly, I am getting more depressed by the day... coz the chance TT get voted in is improving by the day.... thanks to TJS.

Think this is exactly how TT's campaign strategists sees it. Note that there is relatively more MSM coverage of TJS and TKL relative to TCB. This is unusual and at the risk of being cynical and perhaps imaginative may be part of a diabolical strategy to dilute the support for TCB and shift it to TJS/TKL so that TT can breathe better. Was at Blk 226 in AMK this am. Lots of TT posters hung up and there was the elderly Indian (RC?) chap handing out TT flyers but with few takers...

Yes note that the endorsement of TCB seems to be from people who knows or has had contact with him and can vouch for his sincerity and humbleness. Contrast this with the serial pledges of support for TT from various self serving groups and organisations who must be under some pressure to do so...this is the difference between "manufactured" support and the REAL thing! Truth will prevail on 27 Aug hopefully...

Despite Mr Chiam ST being a popular, helpful and genuinely good MP to the residents of PP, he still could not win Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC in the last election. A food for thought. :)

He did not have a strong enough team...still there was quite a decent swing in votes. The EP is different from the GE. Local factors will not be as influential
in voting inclinations...

Latest update on polls including pinkpanther composite of 150 of his own polls.

Tony Tancho Tan - 32.8%
Adrian Tan Cheng Bock -27.2%
Kenson Tan Jee Say - 23.8%
Casino Tan Kin Lian - 13.7%

No significant movement except in basis points.

Good callout. The manufactured support for TT may not translate into votes within the confines and privacy of a polling both.

Dear Frens, since TT has the support of the RC and PAs etc in his election campaign, and these are tax payer funded organisations, is this not proof that TT is a government candidate and not independent as he proclaim?

And who is paying for the help RCs and PAs are giving him? I hope the other candidates question TT on that

Actually people were surprised by how much he got. Many people felt that he was not in good health and he certainly did not have the campaign resources. More importantly, the internal discord which was in public was there for all to see. Even the Chairman of the party was more concerned with having a single seat to fight then focusing on the GRC assault.

Put all this together and the PAP still got a pasting. Frankly no comparison to anything.

Actually its the opposite. The PAP has realised that TCB has better rapport with grassroots than TT who was detached. TCB if I not wrong was the first non cabinet MP to vote straight into CEC. That the reason why PAP and the Govt is forcing various clans, trade organsiations, unions, and business bodies to support TT. The grassroots support cannot be guaranteed for TT. I understand that PA is very quiet because of this.

Notice nothing in the press about grassroots support for TT - only clan, Chinese Chamber of Commerce. They will of course try to make the claim that Political parties should not be involved in PE.

But be prepared for the "helping in personal capacity" line of answers.
