You gotta be kidding. Last GE, PAP 2 cabinet ministers and one minister of state removed unceremoniously. Last By elections, one girl with nothing spectacular in terms of career and academic qualification removed the PSP candidate who is a Mt E surgeon who is also adjunct lecturer in NUS, holding positions in SAF and a whole list of achievements.

The words massacre, disgrace etc would be understatements.

Where in the World have you heard a standing PM begging for forgiveness near the end of elections campaign. That alone must have gone a huge bag of sympathy votes.

Isolated incidents. Since then Singapore has gone from strength to strength, posting one of the highest nominal GDP growth and appreciation of currency among its peers. This year the government has even honoured our pioneer generation for their contributions to nation building.

Indeed, the best way to silence critics is to let results show for themselves instead of threatening lawsuits. In that respect, the PAP has succeeded marvelously.
