You may not realise that the price of shampoos are slowly but surely rising. From the nondescript to the high end brands it may cost you from $8 to $30 and even more. Do not believe in their adverts how wonderful their brands are and it will remove dandruff etc. Dandruff is common in tropical countries and if you do not shampoo the oil off your hair it will re-occur no matter what fantastic brands you use. Moreover, using the same brand all the time loses it's effectiveness as the bacteria develop resistance.
My suggestion is to use baking soda which remove the oil from your hair and scalp. It is cheap and biodegradable and easily available. I have not tried apple cider but I use a conditioner to soften my hair.
Try it yourself and if you do not like it, you can always switch back. Nothing will happen to your hair that I can assure you. Some of my friends are using it and of course my family. I save some money on shampoos. Those with women folks at home will save much more.
Shampoo, if you will:
1 Tbsp baking soda
1 cup water
Conditioner:
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup water
10-20 drops essential oil (I used lavendar)
For extra earth points: reuse your own plastic bottles!
To wash:
Rinse hair.
Shake up the baking soda mix. The baking soda won’t dissolve in water.
Pour/apply onto your hair. It won’t be sudsy, so it might be hard to tell. Just be sure to get a little all over your hair.
Massage into your scalp.
Rinse off.
Shake up the apple cider vinegar mix just a tad (it’s not really necessary).
Pour/apply onto your hair. This won’t be sudsy either, so just apply some everywhere you’d like it to go. Your hair will probably begin to soften under such lusciously simple ingredients. Mine does!
Rinse off.
