Heard from my friend's kid who is in an international school that he took O levels in June. He play play play type, but did quite well. I said he smart, he told me no lah, it's easier in June. True boh?

Like the NUS grad got to dig rubbish bin at 40+, MOM recognizes tertiary certs from 700 universities world wide (hope I got this correct). Question is our children study hard, if exam harder, but still lose out how:confused::(

As long as you avoid the bell-curve skewing Singapore and HK, hahaha...

I thought that international schools are doing the International Baccalaureate (IB). Why waste the time doing the O levels unless you are going to the UK:confused:

I was not concerned about their personal choices. But am more interested to find out if what his kid said is true:o

Friend, the IBDP is the equivalent of "A" levels.

And FYI, the Cambridge GCE "A" levels is just as renowed if not more than IBDP. IBDP focus more on breadth, GCE is more on depth.

Didn't know that. Personally went through the usual O & A route. Thought that International Schools would be more international i.e IB :)
In Canada you can get into the Uni just by using O levels i.e Grade 12 . Saves one alot of time especially if one is a Sporean & male i.e NS committments. Knew a Sporean who did that & he went back to do his NS with double degrees:eek:
