Drivers started crossing the brand new San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge around 10 PM Monday night (September 2, 2013) and this morning we got this adorable video from EarthCam providing a time-lapse video of the 59-month project.
According to Earth Cam, The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) relied on 12 EarthCam construction cameras to document progress for the $6.4 billion bridge. So, in 2008, EarthCam installed a combination of live streaming video cameras and high definition time-lapse systems, documenting the progress from 42 preset angles.
The cameras were in place for almost 6 years of progress–and now the footage has been boiled down into this 4 minute movie.
