A sales executive from a travel agency involved in a cheating scam amounting to $238,500 was jailed for 14 months on Wednesday (16 March) after an appeal hearing in the High Court.

Ang Geok Kim was found guilty on 11 cheating charges committed between 2007 and 2009.

She was originally acquitted in the State Courts on these charges but upon an appeal by the prosecution, Ang was bought before Justice Tay Yong Kwang in the High Court.

Ang was the last person to be dealt with in a series of cases involving three other people who cheated NTUC Club and its liquor and tobacco suppliers. She took a five per cent cut from the cheating scam.

NTUC Club is part of the National Trades Union Congress and manages clubhouses and resorts across Singapore.
