SINGAPORE: A Singapore Armed Forces regular serviceman was prounced dead after being found unconscious at the foot of a building in Chong Pang camp on Wednesday morning (Nov 30), said the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) in a media release.
Three medics had arrived at Chong Pang camp at 11.26am and tried to resuscitate him, said MINDEF.
The serviceman was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in an SAF ambulance, MINDEF said, adding that an SAF medical officer continued efforts to resuscitate him en route to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 11.50am at the hospital.
"The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman. The SAF is assisting the family in their time of grief and is investigating the incident," said MINDEF.
It added that a police investigation will also be conducted.
