SINGAPORE: To support the development of the SAF's urban operation capabilities, a new training facility has been developed.

The Murai Urban Training Facility (MUTF) resembles a typical town. It is located within the SAFTI's Live Firing Area at Lim Chu Kang.

The facility features various urban districts to expose soldiers to different operating environments. These include multi-storey buildings and single-level houses.

For greater realism, features such as bus stops, traffic lights and overhead bridges have also been added.

To date, 150 buildings have been completed and training activities have commenced in these buildings.

The completed facility will house a total of 200 buildings and it will also include a variety of battlefield-effect simulators to further enhance training realism.

The facility is equipped with video monitoring and recording functions as well as a control tower for after-action reviews. These equipment will facilitate learning and doctrine development for the soldiers.

Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean launched the Murai Urban Training Facility on Friday.

For greater realism, should HDB flats be built? Maybe really for training to attack Malaysia!

TS,you are good, like that also can come up with such a thread's title.

This Murai Urban looks like in JB or S'pore's Serangoon Garden to me.

Nabeh so well built...

At night can let the 10,000 bangra workers stay there instead of Serangoon Gardens...

Lee Bee Wah. Since she's so experienced in managing FTs.

Not happy with who just sack.

For "ghost" town....i thought of another MP. But only during hungry ghost month working...normal day, his GRC members rotate half-yearly

They should house the New Citizens and Foreign workers there.

This would help if live targets are use.

"Not to worry, I'll help the country that praise, worsheep and donate to me the most. Hei hei hei hei.."

for realism, they should house FTs in that facility, and let the soldiers train properly. where FIBUA is concerned, there're sure to be civilians. civilian wounded or killed = breech of geneva's convention.

that should keep the soldiers sharp on their 'rules of engagement'. only then, can they claim that it is realism
